Kp 7 aurora locations
Kp 7 represents a G3 geomagnetic storm - a strong storm that pushes the aurora significantly further south than normal. At this level aurora has been photographed from southern England, northern France, southern Germany, and states as far south as Colorado and Pennsylvania in the USA. G3 storms occur a handful of times per year during solar maximum.
Kp 7 is a step up from Kp 6 and below Kp 8.
Kp 7+ aurora locations in Scandinavia
All Scandinavian locations are well inside the oval at Kp 7. The conditions that produce Kp 7 typically bring the most active displays to northern Scandinavia.
Kp 7+ aurora locations in the UK and Ireland
Southern England including London, Bristol, Oxford, and the south coast are within range at Kp 7. The whole of Ireland and Wales are active.
Kp 7+ aurora locations in North America
Kp 7 brings aurora well into the mid-latitudes of North America. Large portions of the United States are potentially in range.
Kp 7+ aurora locations in central Europe
Germany, the Netherlands, Estonia, and Latvia are all well within range at Kp 7. Berlin and Amsterdam can see aurora on clear nights.
Aurora australis at Kp 7+
Melbourne comes into range at Kp 7, as do South Africa's Sutherland and Cape Town. The southern hemisphere oval now covers three continents.

Hokkaido locations remain active at Kp 7. Display intensity in Japan's aurora zone tends to be highest at this Kp level.
